Ray of Sun

'Tis the season for papers - seems like that's all I do these days; I have two down and two to go (in the next 12 days). Blech. I am tired of studying. So tonight I bagged study and hung out with the kids instead. We had a good time, but I find myself gloomy nonetheless - it's hard to relax when there is so much going on. Life can get to be such a grind...

At any rate, it's always nice to get something cheerful in my inbox. The other day my brother, Master Aegidius, closed one of his emails asking "P.S.- Where can I get the decoder ring for all the BTY, LOL, web acronym stuff?" So I pointed him in the direction of this to help bring him up to speed, and then promptly forgot all about it.

Until today, when I received this email, not only telling me what he's up to, but showing up his new found web saavy:
Hey there!
Thx for the picture/avatar stuff. Worked better than a .338 Magnum on a bedded down buck at 300 yds.

Funny, but I could of swore that I typed in the same thing and it didn't work.....

Sad news: tell Malachi no antelope skin. The maggots got into it, and it was a little to much even for me. It was ready to crawl away.

I am going elk hunting all day tomorrow. Going to try to shoot a fat cow elk.

How many more weeks till end of term? Two? Three?
Do you have a Christmas/ Winter Solstice/ Kwanzaa term this year, or do you get to kick back for a month?

Warm thought: I will take you fishing this summer on the lower Madison, slapping grasshoppers next to the banks, waiting for big faty Browns to slurp them up. Feeling the sun beat down, sipping a Fat Tire, smoking real tobacco, listening to the waves gently slap the sides of Chrysophylax....

Also THX for the elk photo, FWIW, I was ROTFL, thinking did they ever WYSIWYG. IANAL, but IMHO they exceeded the GVW. Of course the FAQ is: so where did you get it? Well I suppose if I want one of my own, I better RTFM*.

(Read The Firearms Manual: Cow elk @ 200 yds + .30/06 w/ 165 gr. Barnes X = Pull the trigger and ask the questions later!)

Only my brother could say it so well. What I would give to be back in Montana right now :-)

It really is nice to hear from folks back home. Thanks to those of you who drop us emails from time to time (we really do miss you all), and thanks even more to those of you who pray for us (please continue to pray - we really need it).

I'll try to post more soon, but I need to make some headway on my papers first.
